CRACK.
It sounded like a gunshot in the silence
A tree just went down outside my house. A tall moving truck was too high and took down 1/3 of the tree. Took the truck's roof off too (see that fiberglass bit in the pile?). My Z was parked 10 feet away. I'm happy as hell no one was parked in front of my house or else my Z would have been parked next to the tree...... See the faint line in the road? That's where my driveway starts.
Oh, and my neighbors are useless. They just stood around calling the drivers idiots rather than helping clear the road. Broke out the saw, chopped that sumbitch up, cleared the road in 10 minutes.
And there was some spectacular lighting tonight too.

In my old neighborhood, if you had a tree fall, the neighbors went in the garage and got the chain saw and the bar oil.
In my new neighborhood, they whip out their cell phones and say 'I got a guy...'

I thought I would do that with a Mulberry tree one time. It takes three pounds of oak to burn one pound of mulberry. Worthless.

I heard a big branch fall in front of my house during one nasty storm. I happened to be working on some interior renovations on my house so I was already in my work clothes, heavy duty boots, gloves... The branch was a big mofo and it felt like i was in the middle of a hurricane. I coulda said fuck it but I went out there and grabbed the thing and started tugging. traffic was starting to back up (i live on a main road) and I was bustin my ass trying to move the thing and the jerks in the cars just sat there in there, dry, and watched me get soaked and struggle. Finally some dude like 10 cars back in an f-350 drove around everyone to come help. I kinda wanted to flip them all off and leave it there.

Holy crap, glad the Z is ok. I had an old 1991 Sentra SE-R that didn't fare so well against a tree, took out the back window and left a nasty dent in the roof. Also, we had some ridiculous lightning going on here a few hours ago, made for a hell of a show driving home from work. No cool pictures of it though.

I hear that man. I used to live on a street (accurately named Main St) that had its drain clog and the whole road was one increasingly large puddle.
Being the good guy that I am I got my galoshes and was trying to chunk the ice off the drain.
Since it was an off peak hour most guys were just moving to the left lane to let me do my work. Then some dick in a volvo comes by and just drenches me. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Lots of truck for that price. God I can't wait to finish school and get back to work so I can start spending money on cars again.
